about

Scrambled Eggs is a reissue of our debut album originally released on Pumpkin Records, Summer 2013.

It's a compilation of the first songs we ever wrote for what became Hanami Family and a few from the tail end of our lives on the road with The Meaty Kids.

The recordings were financed by Smugglers Records and The Hive. Massive thanks to Matt, Damon and Good Will. Three visionaries in their own rights without whom this record might never have been made.

Tracks 3,4,5,6,9, are from our semi abandoned debut album that we recorded with Paul Clifford (Trombone) in Musky Studios. Musky's an old touring caravan converted into a kooky recording space crammed with ADAT recorders, homemade instruments amd various deconstructed electronic devices.

The cover art was painted by Father Timmy Murphy and the back cover photo taken by Luca Rudlin.

Tracks 1,2,7,8 are the tracks that didn't make Philo Melos. They were recorded in The Hive Studio with Paul Wilkes who also played banjo on Bootlickin. The studio's is set up in our old bedroom above de.bees music bar in Winsford, Cheshire. Big love to Karl Brightman and Golty Farabeau for being our rythmn section on Kyle and Holey Soles.

‘A Lum Hat Wantin’ A Croon’ is a trad Scotish song from the 19th century and our version is pretty close to the Ray and Archie Fisher take on it.
